Let the fun begin!

This blogging thing is something totally new to me but it's pretty cool. I want to keep those interested up to date on my adventures in Ecuador.

My experience in Ecuador/Galapagos Islands last summer with Denny (my cousin) and his group from Colorado, Joanne and Colleen (my two older sisters), Darie (good friend), and awesome students from Lombardi Middle School (Nolan, Mickey, Jennifer, Rachel, Dakota), has led me to pursue this exciting opportunity of teaching English to eager Ecuadorians.

How am I getting there? WorldTeach! WorldTeach is a program through Harvard University
www.worldteach.org that sends volunteers to developing countries to teach English to students of all ages. This has been a long process (since last summer) but worth every minute. I want to thank all of you who have been so supportive in my adventure. I couldn't do it without the love and support of family and friends. I know it's crazy, but it is somehting I have to do. I look forward to being able to share some of my experiences with you. Hang on! It is going to be a wild ride!

Departure date: Sunday, June 7. I will miss the last week of school and am very sad about that. Jerry will drive me to Milwaukee where I will fly to Miami. I will spend the night in Miami so I don't have to travel literally 17 hours in one day. Monday, June 8, the group will fly into Quito and arrive approximately 11:00 pm.

Return date: Saturday, August 15.
